DO I NEED TO SHAVE MY EXISTING EYEBROWS OFF?MOST DEFINATELY NOT! Please do not tweeze, wax, thread or do anything to your eyebrows for as long as possible and no sooner than 2 weeks before your appointment. The beginning of your treatment includes a brief consultation, followed by shaping and discussion about pigment colour. Your regular eyebrow maintenance of tweezing, waxing, threading and/or tinting may continue once your eyebrows had healed.
-

-
DOES MICROBLADING HURT?The discomfort is varied as everyone has a different pain threshold and level of sensitivity. An anesthetic is applied for numbing during the procedure and every effort is made to ensure you remain comfortable for the whole treatment. Our clients are usually pleased to discover that Microblading is no more painful than tweezing or threading. Pre-care instructions are designed to limit bleeding and skin sensitivity during the treatment. Some key things to note before booking your treatment if your worried about pain are: - Treatment during your menstrual cycle may increase discomfort. - If you are a frequent smoker, the topical aesthetic used during the treatment will not last as long and also may lead to poor retention. - Other illnesses may affect your sensitivity tolerance during the treatment.
-
HOW LONG IS THE HEALING PROCESS?The healing process is around 4-8 weeks. It is normal to experience minimal swelling and tenderness immediately after your treatment, this usually subsides within the first hour or two. The first week following your treatment the pigment will appear darker than how it will appear once it has fully healed. Around week 2, the skin naturally exfoliates and sheds. During weeks 4-8 when the skin has completely healed, you will see the true colour of the pigment. A top-up session approximately 4-8 weeks after your initial appointment is necessary in order to achieve that richness of colour and density in the shape.
-
HOW LONG DOES MICROBLADING LAST?Microblading is a cosmetic tattoo. The pigment will fade over time and we recommend to get an annual top-up to keep them looking their best. There is no guarantee in how long it last as each individual has different skin types and lifestyles. On average top-ups are recommended every 9-12 months. In some cases it will be longer than others. The frequency of top-ups depends on a number of factors including: skin type, pigment selection, lifestyle, sun exposure, iron deficiency, chemical peels, products, etc. Please note that the final results can not be guaranteed as each unique skin type will hold pigments differently and will break down at different rates.
-
HOW MANY TREATMENTS ARE NEEDED?Microblading is a process, your eyebrows will not be complete in just one appointment. For best results at least 2 appointments are needed, each appointment being 4-8 weeks apart. At the second appointment which is your top-up, I will assess the colour retention and make the adjustments necessary. Everyone heals differently and at different speeds. If your cosmetic tattoo does not heal perfectly the first time, do not worry! We can always go bolder and add more density at your next appointment. If you have extremely oily skin, the Microblading technique may NOT work well for you. The constant production of oil will cause the hair strokes to heal with a diffused, softer look or the pigment may not stay in the skin at all. Your end results will look more powdered instead of crisp hair strokes.
-
CAN I HAVE MICROBLADING IF IM BLONDE AND WANT LIGHT BROWS?Yes, of course. We have a range of pigments to choose from, so there is something for everyone. Please note: in the first week after treatment brows will appear darker than healed so do not let this scare you.

I HAVE A HISTORY OF COLD SORES. CAN I HAVE LIP BLUSH TREATMENT?Yes you can. If you have a history of cold sores you'll need to start taking an anti-viral prescription (Valacyclovir, Denavir (penciclovir), Valtrex or acyclovir (Zovirax)), at least a week BEFORE your proposed procedure. Cold sore outbreaks are often triggered by stress or trauma to the lips and skin. Therefore if you are a carrier, lip blush will likely cause an outbreak if you do not take an anti-viral medication prior. Your appointment WILL be cancelled if you have had a history of cold sores and do not follow this instruction (with cancellation fees). This is because cold sores will effect the healing/results and can even lead to scarring. So please do not skip this step, you will be happy you didn't and have better results.
